Mr. Stewart is an island boy currently living and working in Vancouver, BC. Though he has been engaged in art for roughly 30 years and involved in many group shows, a few weeks ago, Cory had his first ever solo show in his make-shift studio/gallery in Vancouver metro.

Though I missed the show, Cory opened the space up for an impromptu tour and an intro to his creative world.

The entry to the gallery space is completely stunning with massive arched panels painted with a welcoming pink sky and obvious Asian inspirations...most likely taken from his time teaching English in Japan.

Cory has this ability to work weird, passion and daily life in to his pieces, both large and small. His affinity to create massive works of art has proven to be an asset as he applies his skills to set designs and props for the Vancouver movie industry.

Breaking out of the canvas routine, Cory often paints on whatever inspires him; hats, shoes, skate decks, mannequins...

Among his many talents, Cory also has been known to throw down some MAD pinstriping. This is a fully lost art that he has really dialed through his love of tight lines and driving himself crazy with maniacal details.
