100 panels of brilliant art lined the walls in Vancouver's, Gallery Atsui for their 2nd annual 10x10 show. 10 local artists (except for Tour how resides up the Sunshine Coast) with each panel with an incredibly low price tag of $100 each.

I thought I was being smart by arranging with the gallery owners, Todd Nickel and Sascha Yamashita, to go in early, take photos and was even offered a chance to claim a piece before the crowds arrived. I took my photos, left for food and returned with a full belly (of delicious lasagna and Italian beer from Incendio) expecting to purchase my most favored Ben Tour piece, only to find that it had sold while I was away. Bugger!

All the panels were graciously donated by the Vancouver framing and art supply store, Opus.

This was my first time at Atsui and despite it's out of the way location (which I have l come to learn that in Vancouver, location is NOT everything), this small but mighty gallery is possibly perfect. Intimate and with the inclusion of the back room being used as a lounge, bar area, Atsui handled a 10 person group show and a packed house of guests brilliantly.

...and one really bad crowd shot. It's always hard for me to get good crowd shots, I think it's my height and the fact that I have to stand on my toes so they are always slanted and at such weird angles.  I digress...

Thank you to Todd Nickel and Sascha Yamashita for your hospitality and I look forward to more shows at Gallery Atsui.

Definitely! The video on the wall at the bottom right showed each image playing in succession like animation. Very cool.

launch party/art show
n/aMassive THANKS to everyone who came out
for the wallfarmers(dot)ca launch party/art show
 at The Freakin Coffeeshop!

Donations ...
for those who wish to give.

Hey friends... like what we do? Want more artists featured, art shows covered, merchandise offered, then we could sure use a hand.  In turn, we will keep on keepin' on, putting on bigger art shows and digging deeper for more super rad art.

Big ups in advance!
