wallfarmers[dot]caOn a random Saturday in February I found myself with my grandpa's pipe and sweater at the local curling club with my amazing friend Krystal. As we enjoy our reasonably priced drinks, we received a couple messages from a friend to meet them at a downtown location called Joe's Garage for a beverage and some musical enjoyment. What I happened upon was something I've been waiting for, or a long time.

Though we only caught the last song of Carolyn Mark's set, I've heard her amazing voice before and was happy to get even a few moments of her darling presence.

The surprise of the evening presented itself as two young men took the stage. Though their band was short a drummer and bass player, The Sumner Brothers filled the air with historical rhythm and forlorn vocals. Johnny Cash and M. Ward in a blender, these two brothers must have sold their old souls for spectacular musical talent.

wallfarmers[dot]caThe show on that particular Saturday night gave me hope that the world is still breeding new musicians and not all the good ones are feeding the soil.

Originally from Victoria, BC and raised in White Rock, BC, these boys are fully capable of catering to a room of seniors or a room of rowdy gutter punks like us. I'm hoping to see these lads on a big stage in the middle of a field come summer time.

Thank you to Vig and the Cumberland Village Works crew for bringing such fantastic talent to the valley once again!

Hit up the Sumner Bros a cd for download or check their tour dates and treat yourself to a show. I'm hoping to see these dewds on stage at some local festivals this summer!
